It is with deep respect and gratitude that we share details for the memorial service honoring the life of my father, Great Grandmaster Dennis Ichikawa.
My father dedicated his life to karate, to teaching, and to the people who walked through the doors of our studio. He believed in discipline, humility, service, and leaving things better than he found them. His impact reached far beyond technique or rank. He shaped lives, built confidence, and created a community that continues to carry his values forward.
The memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 17th, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Samuelson Chapel, located at 165 Chapel Lane, Thousand Oaks. A brief reception will follow the service.
This gathering is an opportunity for our karate family to come together, reflect, and honor a man whose legacy lives on through his students and the generations he inspired. I truly hope you will attend and help us celebrate the life, teachings, and enduring spirit of Great Grandmaster Ichikawa.
Thank you for being part of our studio family and for continuing to uphold the values he held so deeply.
With respect and gratitude,
Justin Ichikawa
